For well over a century, towns have advertised their charms (not always
immediately apparent!) through picture postcards. Dudley is no exception
to this, and a profusion of cards has been produced over the years.
Dudley Mall is indebted to David Clare
of Wolverhampton for giving access to his collection to produce this
feature.
We’ll be adding to the feature by including some relatively modern
images to fill gaps or provide contrast. But where there were plenty
of old images, we've added the modern ones as separate pages - and
you'll find no bigger contrast than at the bottom of Castle Hill,
where the Castle Gate roundabout now guards the entrance to Dudley.
